By India Today Web Desk: Australia Women’s cricketer Amanda-Jade Wellington welcomed Suryakumar Yadav to New Zealand in a hilarious manner. The 32-year-old Suryakumar is all set to take part in the T20I series against the Black Caps that gets underway on November 18 at the Sky Stadium.
On Sunday, November 11, Yadav reached Wellington and he dropped a post on his Twitter on his arrival in New Zealand.
He took to Twitter and wrote, “Hello Wellington.”
Wellington, in the meantime, tried to pull off a humor by replying to Yadav’s post. She wrote, “Hello Yadav.”
Suryakumar recently played in the T20 World Cup 2022 on Australian soil, where he finished as India’s second-highest run-scorer after Virat Kohli.
Yadav scored half-centuries against the Netherlands, South Africa and Zimbabwe at a strike-rate in excess of 190. He batted at No.3 and took the Men in Blue to competitive totals more often than not.
In six matches, Yadav scored 239 runs at an average of 59.75 and a strike-rate of 189.68, showing how big a force he can be, especially in the shorter format of the game.
As far as Wellington is concerned, she is currently plying her trade for the Adelaide Strikers in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL). In 10 innings, the leg-spinner has picked up 17 wickets at an economy rate of 6.59.
Wellington, also the fourth-highest wicket-taker in the ongoing WBBL, picked up a five-wicket haul against the Melbourne Renegades.
She was also a part of the Australian team, captained by Meg Lanning that won the 2022 World Cup in New Zealand earlier this year.
