By India Today Web Desk: Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh has advised both England and Pakistan to take the T20 World Cup final as just another game. Speaking to India Today, Harbhajan said that to perform better, one needs to be relaxed, but that was easier said than done in a pressure game like the World Cup Final.
“I think England slightly have the edge in the final but it does not matter. In the final, teams that absorb pressure better than the other, I think they go on to become the champions. The final is all about how you want to play the final, whether you think about the final or you take it as just another game. Simple thing is, when your mind is relaxed, you tend to do better,” Harbhajan said in an exclusive chat with India Today.
Both England and Pakistan have put up dominating show in the semi-finals of the tournament, decimating their opponents. The two teams will be squaring off at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, hunting for their second T20 World Cup title. Either have not won a single T20I match at the MCG, but England seem to be the favourites after routing India by 10 wickets.
“England look really, really good, but that does not mean that they are going to lift the title. They will have to work very hard to defeat this Pakistan outfit,” Harbhajan said.
The former spinner lauded Pakistan side and said that they had a lethal bowling attack that could come clutch in the lively Melbourne pitch.
The two team face each other on Sunday, 13 November.
