By India Today Web Desk: Chennai Super Kings have shown faith in Ravindra Jadeja and Ambati Rayudu despite a controversial 2022 season. Chennai Super Kings were riddled in controversy in their 2022 campaign with Jadeja leaving captaincy mid-season and Ambati Rayudu announcing a shock retirement on Twitter, only to reverse it moments later.

Ravindra Jadeja had a tumultuous time in the Indian Premier League in 2022 with the Chennai Super Kings. The player was first announced as the captain of the Chennai Super Kings, a monumental transition from the legendary MS Dhoni. However, things did not go well for the all-rounder or for the franchise for that matter after they lost a series of matches at the start of the season.

After looking like a deer in the headlights, Jadeja ended up relinquishing his duties as the captain and returned it to Dhoni. The wicket-keeper batter game a bombshell interview that CSK were preparing for Jadeja to take over as captain.

Jadeja played under Dhoni for a few matches but was injured in the last leg of the IPL 2022 owing to a rib injury, which once again sparked rumours of rift between the players.

Chennai Super Kings will go into the auction with Rs 20.45 crores in hand.

Both Jadeja and Rayudu have been loyal servants of the Chennai Super Kings, but things seemed to go haywire in the previous season when CSK underperformed under Jadeja. The team saw better days under MS Dhoni but by that time, it was too late for a comeback into the 10-team tournament.
