J&K cops raid suspects in teacher’s killing in Kulgam | India News – Times of India

SRINAGAR: The special investigation unit (SIU) of J&K police on Friday conducted multiple raids in connection with the killing of Rajni Bala and others in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Rajni Bala, a teacher from Jammu’s Samba district, was shot dead by terrorists outside the Government High School in Kulgam’s Gopalpora, where she was posted, on May 31.
In a statement, police said that after obtaining a search warrant from court, the SIU conducted raids at the houses of Abdul Wakeel Shah in Danow Mukandpora locality and Tahir Ahmad Sofi in Kulgam town. The role of the two suspects in Rajni Bala’s killing is being probed.
Several other locations were raided, too, police said, adding that the crackdown was part of efforts to eliminate the terror ecosystem in the district by identifying various overground workers and supporters of terror groups.
These raids would continue in future also for the logical conclusion of all UAPA cases, the police statement added.
