Two IEDs found in Jammu | India News – Times of India

JAMMU: Jammu & Kashmir Police claimed to have averted a major tragedy with the recovery of two improvised explosive devices (IEDs), which were found on the outskirts of Jammu city Monday late evening.
Police said the IEDs with timers were found lying abandoned near Phallian Mandal area falling under Satwari police station during routine checking. “Senior police officials went to the spot and a bomb disposal squad was also immediately pressed into service. The devices were later defused under controlled mechanisms without any damage to life or property,” a police spokesperson said. The Army cordoned off the area and launched further search operations.
Jammu SSP Chandan Kohli said, “A case under Explosives Act has been registered in this regard. An investigation has been launched to nab the accused involved in it.”
