By India Today Web Desk: Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer was delighted after Bangladesh U19 finished their recent tour of Pakistan. On Friday, November 18, Pakistan U19 beat the Junior Tigers by seven wickets in the second match of the two-match T20 series at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
After Bangladesh U19 won the first match by five wickets, the home team made a stupendous series to make it 1-1 in the T20Is. Jaffer, who worked as Bangladesh U19’s batting consultant during the tour, was happy with how his team performed across formats.
Before the T20s, Bangladesh U19 made sure that they won the One Day series 2-1. They lost the second One Dayer by 128 runs, but came back to win the series with a four-wicket win in the deciding encounter.
Prior to that, Bangladesh U19 eked out a draw in the only Test in Multan. Mohammad Shihab James became the Player of the Match for his 85-run knock in the fourth innings and a four-wicket haul in the third.
Jaffer took to Twitter and wrote, “Beating Pakistan in Pakistan is right up there in terms of job satisfaction. Proud of the boys for winning the ODI series 2-1, drawing the T20 series 1-1, and batting over a day to draw the only Test. Thanks for looking after us.”
Jaffer, in the meantime, has also been named as the batting coach of the Punjab Kings (PBKS) ahead of the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Jaffer returned to the IPL franchise after leaving the franchise before the previous season.
