The group of death is going to be tough competition for both teams and the first match will be crucial for qualification. US will be up against Wales, who are playing their first ever World Cup since 1958 and made it through to the tournament with a spirited campaign.

“Coach, put me in. I’m ready to play,” Biden joked while speaking on the phone.

“You guys, I know you’re the underdog, but I’ll tell you what, man, you got some of the best players in the world on your team, and you’re representing this country, and I know you’re going to play your hearts out, so let’s go shock ’em all,” Biden continued.

USA have a young team in the tournament and have to do everything in their power to defeat two of the top teams in World football – England and Wales. The fourth team in their group is Iran who are an Asian powerhouse and can spring a surprise on their day. The Iran side scored 2 goals against a star-studded England defence, but conceded 6 goals in return.

“You keep trusting in one another, play as hard as you can, and for you and your families, your teammates and the whole country’s rooting for you,” Biden further added.
